Red on black, the Dragon’s blood stains the rock of Shayol Ghul. In the Pit of Doom shall his blood free men from the Shadow.
Wait, wrong blood healing prophecy. Drat.
It would be hysterical if Rumy could tell something’s off because that large-scale exposure to Animal’s blood has “enlarged” Di just a little and Rumy is just that observant.
Ohhhhh the Kyoshiro/Kyo blood death gambit! Now that’s a rare trope. I guessed something like that would happen, since obviously no one gets killed off panel.
I’m confused. There were not two random corpses with machine guns 1 foot from Baxter’s feet, (which it would have to be since Animal is STILL running from Di’s corpse), plus since Di would have used that anyway on Wheaties instead of desperately clicking the broken lazer gun. She intended to put him in autopsy anyway so there would be no point in holding back. Wheaties was far too dangerous anyway to use non lethal force, which was a good judgement call by Di.
But why is this machine gun not drawn in last panel? It should be right next to Baxter’s feet. Can someone please explain to me, so I can comment a thank you for explaining?
Wait a minute, those aren’t corpses. Those are the two unconscious guys in part 8, but they were carrying pistols, no automatics!!
Di isn’t trained on AK-47s? – Neither is Baxter, probably, but Baxter’s gotten a dose of make-him-better already.
Also, please note, Team: start next time by shooting the person with the ability to shut down electronics with a chemical propellant firearm. Or use a grenade. Close does count with hand grenades.
To be honest, Bax’s trajectory in the last frame is a bit of a glitch now that I see both pages together. He had to double BACK from where he was in 17.4 to pick up the machine gun, which was owned by the first guard they subdued, here.
Cronomatt, I assume you mean the last panel of the previous strip. If you mean 18.4, then he’s walked over to where Di is, leaving the gun where he dropped it in 18.2.
As for why Di didn’t do this? Di went for the gun within easier reach that she knew how to use, not realizing Mechtech had turned it off. Lamed as she was, she could only reach one weapon in time. Plus, her overall technical sophistication isn’t anywhere near Bax’s, and firing an AK-47 properly is tougher than it looks. (If you’re asking why Di didn’t try the AK-47 BEFORE she got her leg broken? Pride… the same reason Wheaties didn’t go for it.)
All the Fans have been relying fairly heavily on their own usually-superior technology: it took a Baxter to recognize the flaw in that strategy in the middle of a firefight.
i can’t remember if i them using the blood to cure Di coming or not but it was still good to see. and the AK… a wonderful stroke. some times you need to realize that a job calls for a hammer and not a malfunction car crushers or drill.

Haven’t seen that since SDK.

Smart Bax. Utilize that magic cheeto blood.
Tiger blood. Boom — WINNING!
Folks notice her ankle healing in the bottom left panel? That stuff works fast!

HOW DID I NOT THINK TO MAKE THE TIGER BLOOD REFERENCE. Dammit, Quark! Curse you for WINNING!
