So Arky, do you think this may mean Webmasters is a proposal for a stand-alone story after all, rather than a miniseries or series?
Unless Jo is moved by Zach’s (presumed) death (and his apparently transmittable power) to become Truth Woman or something, and she would be the star of the ongoing story? 😀
On another note, I wonder how Zach will meet his end, if that’s indeed what’s about to happen. Beaten to death by Thwip? Assassinated on the orders of Disney Exec and Harpo Lookalike? Let’s speculate!
Good thinking, Bo. Maybe the bigwigs with whom he just met will strongarm him into “vanishing” and working for them off the payroll, possibly by threatening Jo or his parents.
Tied up again, I think. Either his insight doesn’t come with imagination, or tying people’s arms to the bedpost with cloth while they lie on their back is the Final Ultimate Sex Position and nobody but him knows why.
O God. You actually referenced One More Day. What a namedrop, especially considering that this quiet before the storm very much resembles some of the events in One More Day. I’m actually a little surprised she didn’t pick up on the clue of the phrase “one more day”, considering everything in this world is Spidey-related. I wonder, with so much riding on Spiderman, do you think they actually did One More Day in this timeline, or did it but managed to not royally screw it up?
Hm, actually, since all movies are probably Spiderman-related now, and considering she didn’t think that was an odd question…
Of course! The movie they’re watching is Spiderman: One More Day, in movie form! Wow, clever. And it sounds like One More Day sucked in their universe too. Maybe it’s a universal constant.
There’s no reason why the reason Zach won’t be seeing Jo soon is because something will happen to him; it may very well be because something will happen to *her*. (And Thwip’s absence *is* conspicuous …)
And that’s Zach’s flaw: He has become so solipsistic that it never occurs to him that anyone *but* him would be targeted. He’s so sure that he can take care of himself that he doesn’t consider the possibility that he isn’t the one that needs to take care.
(And it does dovetail nicely with Uncle Ben—someone the hero loves, rather than the hero himself, directly pays the price of his hubris.)
Oh no, are we seeing a bucket list?
A bit fatalistic!
Is his “brief starring role” going to wind up with him heading backstage forever?

Permanently undercover.

“I am just going outside and may be some time”
She’s still tied up?

I am constantly weirded out by the combination of contemporary technology and fifties fashion. Or rather, fifties fashion with spiders.
I wonder how this universe would react to Superior Spiderman. Peter Parker isn’t Spiderman?

Peter Parker has some funny lines:)
