^ I think we’ve gone beyond Not Good. No matter how you look at it this is a loss for Aegis. They failed to prevent Vermith’s death, which was their primary objective.
“Earth. Wanna go to earth. Wanna go to earth wanna go to earth wanna go to earth wanna go to earth. Wanna go to earth. Wanna go home. Wanna go home wanna go home wanna go home wanna go home. Earth earth earth. Don’t like space. Don’t like space. It’s too big. Too big. Wanna go home. Wanna go to earth.”
Wait, this fights only been on for, what, 30 seconds? that gives them thirty more before he’s seriously busted up unto death. they’ve still got some chance, here.
What if he’s actually a xenochicklet?
Either an evolved form, or one put into a humanoid body.
Don’t think we’ve ever really seen Xenochicklets fighting amongst themselves, and it might even be taboo, hence why orange and blue stopped their game of Portals with him..
You know which of the Cuckoos that intrigues me the most? Link. Is his head different from the rest of him? It seems that way, except when his face seems to explode when Rumy kicked it on page 9. Is his intellect a hive mind, an emergent property of all the tiny bits linked together? Does his intellect originate from that hive mind, or was it transferred from a more traditional meat-based mind, or was it deliberately programmed? Is he unique or is there a planet somewhere covered in beings like him, and if so are they naturally occurring or created? Can his parts replicate using material from their surroundings? Is he biological or magic-based or technology-based (and how long in Fansworld before science figures out how magic works and that distinction becomes moot?) or some as-yet-undescribed fourth type? If he’s tech-based, can Mechtech control him?
NOT GOOD!!! NOT GOOD!!!

Worse, the xenochiclets might have something to do with it… or be blamed for it regardless.
The operation was successful, but the patient died.
He’s in SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!!!
Well, I guess it’s not a public loss, at least. I mean, it’s not like the news crews will be able to find the body.

Well, we know for certain that Vermith is NOT Batman, because he *can’t breathe in space*.
So hurray for….
the… faceless, unelected, unaccountable agents…. working for a corrupt government….?
This also says something about Bellhop..

Soooo maaaany queeeestions….
That explains “the betrayal” that the General alluded to: the xenochicklets didn’t keep Bellhop busy or keep Vermith from his demise.
Say…whatever happened to Rumy’s half xenochicklet baby?
Space, space, gotta go to space…..
