Derp. I totally forgot Feddyg’s eyes did something other than look menacing. So he wasn’t just bluffing for the lulz. On the other hand, he also wasn’t bluffing with a cunning plan in mind.
Oh Gods Ally, this is a terrible idea unless you’re bluffing about Rikk being willing to do the body swap. I hope the others know nothing about this. Ally having poor judgment about Feddyg is one thing, but the others should know better.
Could trusting Feddyg be the “betrayal”? I mean, it seems fairly obvious, but then again, it would make sense. Letting him kill Rikk would rip the team apart.
Again: that bodyswap idea is Dollhouse-epilogue-level NOT OKAY. Word will get out that it happened. Fitz’s technology will eventually be duplicated by someone with even fewer scruples and/or countermeasures. And after it becomes available to the public… there goes everything. When you can’t be sure your thoughts are your own, or will continue to be- or worse, when you have the power to impose your thoughts irresistibly on others- there’s really no way to avoid descending into anarchy.
They could always clone Rikk and body-swap him with a healthy Rikk 2.0. I’m sure Rikk would object to that (“won’t somebody please think of the clones”???) but I bet Ally and Rumy can sex him into submission/make him see how wrong it would be to orphan their child if he can do something about it.
As for Ally herself, I think she’s attempting a Batman Gambit here. Feddyg is no fool and he might see right through Ally (whether by outhinking her or by using his Sight Beyond Sight), but he’s a narcissistic degenerate sicko. Who knows? He might take the bait, thinking -predictably- that he can end up screwing everybody over, right on cue, and do some good in spite of his spite. I know, I know, talk about a long shot, but long shots are our protagonists’ bread and butter
Oh, Snake-Eyes, just let them think they’ve won. That way you can sneak up a new plan under their noses to start your next villain arc. It’s simple, man!
Also, I just thought about the possibility that Feddyg might end up fighting against the Hand of Justice, should everything go to hell. I forgot just how much of a wild-card the guy can be. Between him, Jesse, and the stupid time-travel folk, who KNOWS what could happen next.
“Between him, Jesse, and the stupid time-travel folk, who KNOWS what could happen next.”
THAT’S the point. It’s pretty hard sometimes building suspense in a story with time travel – too many characters get themselves plot armor – so I’m quite happy with this turn of events.
Not just time travel but also cloning and body swaps (One wonders what Will had to say to this idea given how he felt about Fitz’s invention in the first place. Then again, ideals and morals tend to fly out the window when it gets personal.) It kinda takes the teeth out of any suspense that you can build out of this scenario when the protagonists have this much plot armor.
Someone dying or dead? No problem. We can just download their memories into a new clone that we had on standby.
Something wrong with the cloner? No problem. Just swap the memories into someone else’s body.
Memories somehow corrupted? Wait 5 minutes. Someone will come from the future to thwart the death.
I’m glad this issue of body swapping was addressed.
FreddyG still sucks, however. You’d think if he could have seen into the future he would have found a way not to be behind bars in it.
I hope this guy becomes a power again because I am always a fan of the “reverse-hero” villain, but really I feel like the only thing FreddyG has going for him is…. well, nothing. He just bluffs all day long and bluffing only works on a person once, so it’s just getting annoying at this point.
I mean, maybe I’m hating on him too much; he did do some horrible psychological tricks on the team, but he just really strikes me as a one trick pony. He needs to keep getting different people to buy his act. Once you know he is just a bluffer he loses all of his bite. This might be his chance to learn a new trick however, so I look forward to reading the rest.

This sounds like a great way to let Feddyg kill Rikk.

As Rumi said. Its not a matter of IF, just HOW.

That look in the last panel.
Good to see that Ally’s edge hasn’t been dulled by being in the scabbard* all this time.

i think ally is bluffing i really dont think Rikk would go for body swap
…sad options, them both.
Ya got Ally’s calves wrong in #8, panels 1, 3 & 4. It’s the OUTSIDE of the calves that curve out.
OOps. Meant to say INSIDE.
