I’m not sure, I was trying to figure out if “species” was plural or not, I recall at least one other alien race that the group at large has interacted with, and one that has stayed hidden… oh and those ones that tried to eat the earth… and that big brain thing… so there are a few aliens that have been met.
I don’t think they’ve given the Colorblock Aliens a name… They’ve more or less just put a name on the types of Alien races we’ve met form time to time. Whitch thinking back about the ones we’ve seen makes sence they’re called starchilden…
The word “Starchild” hails back from “2001: A Space Odyssey”. I’m pretty sure it is used as a general term here, not as a name for a specific alien species.
The color-block aliens are generally referred to as “xenochiclets” by those not creative enough to speak their idea-based language. The “starchildren” reference is a descriptor, not a title; the aliens the Fans have met so far are apparently young for races to evolve the ability to travel through interstellar space unaided (!)
What I’m more interested in, though, is the Cuckoos. From the name it appears they survive by supplanting child-races with their own people and siphoning off parental (Community) resources; perhaps this Community is benevolent to developing civilizations and the Cuckoos somehow want to be recipients of that benevolence again and again, rather than ever having to make their own way in the universe? To that end, they infiltrate and mimic species all over the galaxies, gaining their love and trust before representing them to the galactic welcome-wagon – then taking all the free energy and tech with them as they move on, leaving the new civilization to stifle.
I’m okay with Ragequit being a “newspeak” word, it makes sense that it’d gather wider use and that people would just turn the phrase into a conjunction, but “hero-fellate”? Really? I mean, did people just WANT a weirder, longer way to say “ass-kiss”?
Naaa… I think the Hero-fellate means more along the lines of making you think he’s a superhero when he’s really a big ass. It’s mroe like ass-kissing without realizing your even doing that or wanting to do that. Just my thoughts on that newspeak word.
Since the regular forum is down I can only speak through here. So apparently cuckoo isn’t being thrown around as another word for crazy which seemed a little out of place considering all the new speak. I like that Shanna isn’t just going along with their recollection of events since her genetic progenitor rebelled against her leaders and quite possibly retains that predisposition for peace. Like Shanna said the Hand tried to kill them, but that’s nothing new and if they cleaned up the environment in the passing years they can’t be all that bad. Moreover, I can’t really begrudge them for saving a member of their team who was being siphoned off to make biological weapons.
BTW is it just me or does Lance “Hyperman” Clarkson look like an anime character. If so it would seem to be Joseph’s stylized way of thinking.
That explains where Joseph went- he was obviously setting up the Powerpoint presentation.
Is this the first time the colorblock aliens have been given a name?

They’ve been called Chicklets in the past.
That setles it. I’m going to have to use HeroFellate somewhere.

Just my 2c…

I think this alternate term for hero worship can be filed under “sneaking crap past the censors”.
