Um, Hilda, are you “sure” it’s a good idea to taunt the chaos-being-thing-y. I mean, he/she/it already killed someone, and I don’t think you’re hiding a gun in your pants. Unless you read ahead… you should be ashamed of yourself.
If this thing jumps bodies, confronting it in a crowd seems unwise (also, either it is jumping in the last panel or its boss is killing off a loose end, I suspect).
Also Gundi, Hilda just said that she’s got the most powerful anti-number gun just in her head… But now lets see where this goes next! I can’t wait to see!

…Wait. Nevermind. I see Marc and Baxter. Oops.

This does seem a bit like the proverbial flip side of the villain gloating out all his plans to the trapped hero.
I’m going to bet at least a partial bluff is involved here.
Hmmm, if you look at the next to last panel….my money is on him jumping to the woman that came out of the restroom.
No human dresses like that, sir. You made it too easy.
I think Hilda is trying to goad him(it?) into possessing her. Once that happens she can beat that irrational number down in her own brain.
BTW, if the number DOES do that, it is extra-special irrational, since that would be a really really stupid move on its part. Just saying.
