Whoah whoah, kick ass. Is that meant to be Donna using the panel jump powers to be both in FRONT of Charlotte AND behind her at the same time in that last panel? If so, that is awesome. Go, Donna, GO! Be the Hero you always wanted to be!
or maybe something has happened to duane in this timeline? perhaps they never even became friends? perhaps she rejected him, with her maternal influence it might even be suggested that something else may have happened.
Yeah, Charlotte. Funny how God wanted to cleanse all the heathen filth with holy fire… and He failed to send you a memo. And He actually sent a conflagration that would have charred your… I mean, would have immolated you if you hadn’t used your sorcery to protect yourself (by the way, good thing for you He never said He had a problem with witchcraft… because He cool with that, right?)
Anyway, is anyone else worried that if Charlotte’s power was enough to withstand the blast, then maybe Hyperman may have survived as well?
Good to see Donna is actually fairly skilled when it comes to using her powers. During the Order of the Dragon arc, we never really saw her do much with them before getting captured.
Well, she may have not been aware of the nature of the incoming danger before putting up the barrier. After seeing it for herself, she’s definitely decided to correct that lapse… and maybe take her own life after. Not exactly a GOOD plan (psst, Charlotte, if God HAD wanted your life, do you really think YOUR power could have stopped Him from taking it just then?), but yeah, without Duane or some positive force in her life…
I’m now getting a really bad feeling about this. Charlotte was manipulated by Jesse once before and suppose this happened again by Feddyg. I know his powers have been sealed and he appears to have been in solitary confinement, but he also knew that Donna was being uncooperative and how could he get that news? Maybe the seals affect his powers differently and he has limited telepathy which over time communicating with her could’ve turned Charlotte against AEGIS. It might also saved his life if she created an independent bubble to shield him from the blast.
Also, Tim, you’re still an idiot. I thought you had matured enough by now to realize that you should watch what you say around people who were imprisoned by your own institution for mental instability.
If I were a petty, vengeful deity, I would have no problem at all with being worshiped through fear instead of love. Both can smite some hapless fool pretty hard.
Man, you guys took it to judging actual religions. The Church of the Mighty Space Laser judges no one. We leave that up to Our Lord’s mighty, laser-y gaze. His circuits contain only logic, unlike the illogical, emotion-tainted judgement of us organics.
ALL HAIL SPACE LASER
ALL HAIL
So, uh, why did you save them if you didn’t want them to survive?
And it wasn’t God, it was a space laser directed by Jared as a (hopefully) adequate weapon to kill a few powerful douche bags. Please correctly identify the source of cleansing fire and death in the future.
This universe’s Charlotte clearly was missing a Duane.
You know, occasionally I remind myself that I don’t appreciate how lucky I am to work with Jason Waltrip.

Eep.

P.S. Love Tim in the second panel
OK, so of the two possibilities in the previous strip, it was the bad one. I don’t know why I even considered the good one.
Bad for AEGIS, I quickly add, not bad for the story.
Man. Charlotte needs to take a chill pill.
So….she saved them from what she believes to be “God’s wrath” so she could do them herself?

Bad Charlotte! No cookie or anything else!
He knew that Donna was being uncooperative because otherwise nobody would have ever approached him in the first place. More importantly, GO DONNA!

Whoopsie!
GOD CONFIRMED TO BE AN ORBITAL SPACE LASER.
^
I think that would get a lot more converts than cheap wine and pleasant songs.
All hail the Almighty Space Laser, our Lord, Savior of Awesome and Judge of Unwholesome.
Come on, think about how unpopular the “lightning from the sky” image of God is.
The only reason an orbital space laser would be more popular than that would be increased awesome, and that can only get you so far!
If I were a petty, vengeful deity, I would have no problem at all with being worshiped through fear instead of love. Both can smite some hapless fool pretty hard.
If this prison was Gomorrah, what kind of sexy hijinks did we miss off screen?

I can’t remember; where did Charlotte get her magical powers from again?
