It’s hard to say what’s happening right now. I’m not sure if Marc and Baxter witnessed Will’s disintegration and are too shocked to say anything to Shanna or reacting to the mission falling apart. Dotty’s non reaction isn’t unusual, but I’m still not sure what side Tiki Wiki is on. It looks like he’s following Bellhop, but is it in pursuit or what? Jared is telling them to seek cover which they aren’t so I wonder if he see’s Hyperman or Ult approaching. Then there’s Tim who also looks like he’s in shock, but I’m not sure about what just yet. He might’ve just recognized his daughter for the first time. Fitz picked up Mec Tech, but since she’s dead and presumably downloaded into something else I don’t know if that’s practical. I’m a little concerned about the people I don’t see on the dragon I know there’s not enough room for Team Beta and Gamma, but I hope they’re okay or at least Marigold and Hannelore if she was involved in this fight.
Is it possible Tiki Wiki and Bellhop are playing both sides for a third agenda? Bellhop’s regret at killing Joshua felt legit to me, and Tiki apparently still has his loyalty to Dotty, if no one else. Might they have an unrevealed plan that also went south fast?
Okay, I seriously have to ask one more time, how or why was Dr. McNinja involved in this? I wouldn’t press the point so much, it’s just that he was shown on panel as having ‘killed’ Mechtech, So if it’s in cannon, what is he doing here? Someone said something about a book in last comments? I’m kind of at a loss… >.>
@Aydr Since Dr. McNinja is wearing what he normally does I think he’s more of a free lancer that they recruited for this mission. Possibly Ar’rad and some of the other groups similar to AEGIS were preoccupied. I didn’t get that good of a look at Gabe so he might be a part of Team Gamma, but Hannelore and Marigold are definitely with AEGIS.
I somehow doubt that Tiki Wiki is “the” betrayer, although he might be a secondary betrayer. My reasoning for this is that Maximilliana (sp?) is still seen with the main group, and was the one who warned of the betrayal. It seems highly suspect that she would unwittingly bring the betrayer back to the scene to perform the betrayal, and if she knew of this all along then everything she’s said to AEGIS is suspect. But even in the unlikely case that she knew this would happen, why would she now stay with the team? I expect she’ll have some explaining to do, and will reveal some, if not all, of the missing pieces of this puzzle.
Regardless, the relationship between Bellhop, the chiclets, and Tiki Wiki is what interests me the most right now.
It occurs to me that Dotty is still something of a mystery. She seems to serve less purpose than Laura did, being useless to outright detrimental, but the general has faith in her ability to take over? What are we missing here?
What I don’t quite understand is… what exactly are they running from? There are like… 15? 20 of our guys? MechTech is down for the count, Bellhop and Link are in retreat, Wheaties was ported away, and Animal was never even a factor in the main battle. So all of Aegis is fleeing from… … the possibility of Hyperman showing up?
Tim’s missus.
Was also the girl that Rikk initially had a crush on, but never had the nerve to ask out. Then Ally and Rumy happened and he never had to do so anyway.
I think Bellhop might be a bit different. He isn’t above violence or killing so he must have some connection to Rumi’s son. I think this is the older version of Rumi’s mindson with the teleporter aliens. Whatever is going on he was horrified to have killed what could be his brother.
Unless he IS against using violence or killing in which case the preacher would be killed by another teleporter he doesn’t know about, the teleporter aliens, or this missing member we don’t know about flying superfast.
I’m just about as confused as everybody else. But I do notice that Tiki Wiki is carrying Will’s skull, as well as the zappy stick, into Bellhop’s portal. (At least I think that’s what that round thing is in his hands, panel 3.) If he just wanted Will dead, I don’t see why he’d keep the skull … lends some weight to the theory that Will is preserved rather than killed. Like maybe they’ll need a DNA sample, as well as the zappy stick, to revive him.
They are running away because with the Xenochiclets compromised, they need to get to a place shielded from teleporting. They don’t know where Lemon just ported Rikk and Rumy to – for all they know, they are both dead as well. For all they know, Lemon is just teleporting them, one by one, into the sun. They have also learned that Bellhop can kill with HIS teleporting power. While they are in the open, there is literally nothing stopping Bellhop but his morality from slicing in half each and every one of them, one by one.
They knew how to block Xenochiclet teleporting back in Jones’ day and I imagine Jared has something set up, but he needs them to be inside a building (for whatever reason) to do it, which is why he’s yelling at them to get under cover instead of flying around.
@Malanthyus – In the Dr. McNinja/Axecop crossover, it was revealed that there is a magic comic book with a button on the back that magically summons Dr. McNinja and forces him to be on your team. Obviously, the magic book made it’s way into Aegis’ possession.
Oh, and that’s definitely referring to his wife… Why would he suddenly start calling the general the same thing he calls his wife? That would be weird as hell. And look at her face- she needs the reassurance. and so does he.
Aydr… I think you’re right. Actually. I didn’t see how he could be asking Jared to relay a message to “his” Julia when she was standing right there but it hadn’t occurred to me that he was asking for reassurance. But his frreaked out expression would suggest that’s the case.
Shanna missed it, but it seems Baxter and Marc saw what happened to Will.

Man I just hope Dr. McNinja is okay

I have the oddest feeling that Will’s not really dead. Could that zapping device have uploaded his consciousness, to be reembodied at a future date?
“I’ll take care of you again…” I find those words *very* ominous :I
For some reason, I’m picturing there being a future Gargoyle-ish moment of someone going “YOU’RE the betrayer!?”
Okay, I seriously have to ask one more time, how or why was Dr. McNinja involved in this? In this universe he’s clearly on Team Gamma (AKA cameo team). Just like Hannelore, Marigold and Gabe.

Tiki’s on his way to the performance of “Hamlet” which will save the world.
It occurs to me that Dotty is still something of a mystery. She seems to serve less purpose than Laura did, being useless to outright detrimental, but the general has faith in her ability to take over? What are we missing here?
Bellhop – Rumi’s first child.
Tiki Wiki – Will in disguise.
At least that’s one W.A.G.
Much more going on than meets the eye.
Not a clue.
If… if Tiki Wiki is Will in disguise… and he’s with Dotty… ewwwwwww.
What I don’t quite understand is… what exactly are they running from? There are like… 15? 20 of our guys? Drawing a blank here… who’s Julia?
@Commiekeebler

Dragon has retractable wings. Convenient. Does he have any other retractable bits?

I think its kinda funny that Campbell basically HAD to have Shanna not see what happened to Will.
I’d bet a doubloon not even he knows what Shanna would do if she had seen it.
@commiekeebler and ISWolf – I think the Julia being referred to here is “General” Julie, rather than Tim’s wife.

General Julie who?
Marc is such a grabass. Took three panels from Will’s death to get his paws all over that skinny romp. Tisk tisk.
@Bunny Suction
Rereading it, looks like you’re right. Bit confusing..
Which is why I personally prefer the term General Penny. 😛
@Commiekeebler
The clone of General Maximilia or however you spell her name.
I dunno, commie, looks to me like he’s sitting a fair bit closer to Bax than he is to Shanna… Maybe the timeline is already changed ~_^
