If that’s so, leaving aside the awkwardness with Shanna because of his almost-affair with her, isn’t it kind of a serious issue that Marc is getting his rocks off at work when on duty (and with a guy who’s a serious security risk, at that)? Makes his judgment pretty questionable.
I still suspect something else is going on here. Although the “Mark has repressed feelings for men” thing has been openly flagged more than once/
wow…. i’m just ….well, i’ve to remember myself what a different culture america has… but in my country, a strong woman like Shanna would have slapped Marc so hard in the face … 😀 or punched him, or kicked his nuts … more than twice… lets see what happens next…
@Lockez
He’s actually an advanced cyborg which can change gender at will. The future he came from was a bit more lax on the definition of “gender”, as would you if your greatest hero looked like theirs did.
What I can’t sort out is what Jesse’s motivation in this is. Is Jesse also bi? Gay? Was he “acting”? If so, what was his motivation to play this particular role? One second he’s at Mark’s throat and the next he’s at his… something is up. No pun intended.
Okay, I can see why this was very unprofessional of Marc, THAT makes sense to me. Getting a blowjob from an insane assassin from the future? Very un-pro.
But Shanna is treating this like it’s personal, and Marc and Shanna never actually had an affair… they had an almost-affair. Shanna is a married woman who spurned Marc’s advances. Does she just like knowing that Marc is straight enough to sleep with her, for when her marriage with Wil finally falls apart? What business is it of hers who Marc fucks? Basically, what the HELL?
I’ve seen this before. Shanna’s a woman with body issues. She meets a guy who finds her attractive, which makes her feel like a woman. Then she finds out that he finds other men attractive and the rubber band snaps in the other direction. “Does he find me attractive because I’m womanly? Or because I’m mannish?” It’s a real blow to her self-esteem.
Hilda knows just about everything. I don’t think its common knowledge. I’m wondering if this was a game of Gay Chicken taken way too far…at least from Marc’s side.
It occurs to me that maybe Marc was playing a game. A game where he takes off his pants, Jesse kneels down, and he waits for Shanna to walk in. As the first step of some sort of convoluted psychological manipulation that ends in Marc and Shanna sleeping together.
Guys, I still say Hilda is manipulating the team. No doubt she somehow knew this would happen and led Shanna there to drive up team tensions. Once the team starts ripping itself apart, she kills Feddyg. Or something.
He still did not explain a single thing. A straight guy does not get a blowjob from a guy on a dare. Is Marc suffering from multiple personality disorder since Marcland?
Hilda would still be breaking the law, acting as judge, jury, and executioner, killing someone without fair trial. That would be against EVERYTHING Aegis stands for. I bet they catch her in the act and end up having to defend Feddyg, which splits the team; why should they defend a total psychopath from a well-intentioned team-mate? For the same reason Batman wouldn’t straight up kill the Joker.
And Batman totally SHOULD kill the Joker. How many times has he escaped and killed people? How many times do the conventional authorities have to clearly demonstrate their complete inability to keep the Joker from killing people before It becomes acceptable to say, “Look, Joker, this is the last time I catch you. If you escape again, I’m just gonna end you.”
I mean, how many major criminals base themselves in Gotham specifically because the conventional authorities are incompetent and corrupt and they KNOW that Batman will go out of his way to not kill them? Probably more than one.
Batman and Joker exist in a universe that twists itself into pretzel knots in order to accommodate and justify vigilantism. “Don’t kill” is only a bit of real-world sensibility that seems stupid because everything else is wack.
Even putting that aside, Hilda is “conventional authority” in this case. She doubly needs to pay attention to due process and rule of law.
The problem with killing Joker is that Batman shouldn’t have to do it. The legal system should have fast-tracked it years ago. There ARE legal systems that involve capital punishment, and there’s no reason the process cant be sped up, considering the circumstances.
Feddyg isnt the Joker, though. Horribly evil, yes. Dangerous, very. But… the Joker has broken out of prison hundreds of times. Feddyg hasnt, ever. And while rehabilitation is realistically a pipe dream, AEGIS is obligated to try anyway. It’s the kind of organization they are.
But if Feddyg is ever out of a cage by his own volition, with his magic he can be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone shooting to kill might get a reprimand, even an investigation if they had a motive like Hilda does… but for it to be a “betrayal” that shakes AEGIS to it’s core? That’s an overreaction.
Is it hard to believe he is bi?
Shanna’s upset because he might not have really loved her in their affair? That does, in fact, make a lot fo sense.
I wish Will could see this. With a bowl of popcorn.
Moebius, now I’m imagining a GIF of Will eating popcorn, looking slightly pissed off. It won’t leave my head. XD
And I don’t blame Marc for being confused. My first game of Strip Scrabble was a perplexing occasion indeed.
Hang on- it WAS what it looked like?

Jesse imitates other people, pretends to be them. My bet is that Jesse can (and did just then) pretend to be Shanna.

Wait, wait. Wait.
Wait.
Is Jesse… actually a woman? Do we have any evidence to the contrary?
@Lockez

His is the omni-gender.
Hey Locke, did the image look like this?

Just wait, Drakkin. I wouldn’t be surprised by a big, full-panel SLAP! next week.

Tbf… right on the money.
Hilda is like… right there? Or is the almost-affair common knowledge?
Hilda knows just about everything. I don’t think its common knowledge. I’m wondering if this was a game of Gay Chicken taken way too far…at least from Marc’s side.
It occurs to me.
Is this actually Marc? Or did they do a body-swap?
It occurs to me that maybe Marc was playing a game. A game where he takes off his pants, Jesse kneels down, and he waits for Shanna to walk in. As the first step of some sort of convoluted psychological manipulation that ends in Marc and Shanna sleeping together.

Killing Feddyg isn’t much of a betrayal, unless he’s seconds away from saving the world or something. Which would be pretty out of character.
He still did not explain a single thing. A straight guy does not get a blowjob from a guy on a dare. Is Marc suffering from multiple personality disorder since Marcland?
He didn’t explain a single thing because he CAN’T, dude. It’s what it looked like. He’s just embarrassed and confused.
That twitching finger… she’s about to hit him, isn’t she?
I’m now predicting that Shanna’s going to be the traitor.
Hilda would still be breaking the law, acting as judge, jury, and executioner, killing someone without fair trial. That would be against EVERYTHING Aegis stands for.
