I’m pretty sure that if someone knocked out Shanna now, she would revert to her true Skrull form. IMHO, the real Shanna doesn’t like to put people on the spot like that, in an unprovoked manner (it’s either that, or she’s putting on a show for whomever Hilda is keeping tabs on)
@Reikenbach You say Hilda spying for confirmation, I say Hilda spying because she is manipulative and planning something, possibly a way to kill Feddyg.
@Jorlem Maybe that they, like she, are part of a combat organization beholden to a chain of command? Everyone else serves AEGIS. If anything, Shanna’s pissed that they’re being used outside of official service, like it’s their job xenoport anybody too lazy to pick up a phone.
The scene in question (it was a couple weeks ago, right?) suggested that they met with Guthrie specifically to hand over the infosphere-thingy that was meant to go to him. Does the team have an interdepartment item transferral service that isn’t the Xenochiclets(?). If so, asides from general nerves/anger, I really doubt this is an issue big enough to lecture the kids about.
@Kosine
No, Guth already had the sphere – long enough to evaluate the contents and determine that there was nothing in there regarding the Hand. Shanna is absolutely right to chastise them about this.
And Shanna DOES have a history of confronting people about touchy subjects. She may not enjoy it (in fact, the incident that I’m thinking about – Shanna confronting Will about chasing after underage girls, was pretty awful for her) but she does it anyway.
It’s quite possible they could have sent the infosphere’s content directly to Guth via electronic communication; he said it would take years to decode the data, not years to actually download it all, assuming it wasn’t coded to prevent retrieval prior to decryption.
And I’m willing to say this is Shanna acting normal. Foremost, Will is now leader, which passes a fair amount of authority and responsibility on to her. Second, she already had a good deal of responsibility and authority to handle, given her seniority, seriousness relative to the rest of the team and specialties; wasn’t she one of the three Rick was looking to make his replacement? Third, she’s speaking to the newbies, here, and more specifically those two newbies that she still thinks of as newbies: the social-media nerd who can’t talk to women and the overly-aggressive iron woman with Daddy issues. The other newbies have either proven themselves to have overcome their weaknesses (Hilda, Zaha), been found out as traitors (Jesse), or have made engaging them incredibly awkward for her (Mark).
Also, she shot Di. For her own good, of course, but Shanna’s opinion of her hasn’t changed much since then, probably.
I don’t think that they know how the infospheres work- they’re hand-activated futuretech. I don’t think they know how to pull a file transfer with them.
Ah, and after a few weeks of suspicion, we happen upon the meat of the chapter – the xenochiclets and their eventual betrayal. Those panels just scream foreshadowing to me.
I love the variation on the old Bruce Banner catchphrase. Well done.
Shanna’s true power: the ability to become a cactus.
Making her the Anti-Meglos.
And we see Hilda spying on number-one suspect Shannon for confirmation.
Shannon? Shanna. Late-night derp.

But, you know, toe-may-toe, tah-mah-toe.
‘Serve’? I have to wonder what Shanna’s choice in words says about how she thinks of the Xenochiclets.

Agreed… Shanna is overstepping and in poor form here.

The good question is why Shanna chastising them so?
Is this a test?
