Trapping him in Tiki Wiki’s pocket dimension is really the only way and I wish I had thought of it first.
I hate to say it, but I don’t feel too broken up if Marc dies. I love Will and Shanna as a couple and worried that one of them wouldn’t make it through this arc. I hope he survives especially since being trapped in a phantom zone where Link would undoubtedly tear him to pieces out of rage or leave him to die a slow death is a sad outcome even if it’s a heroic sacrifice.
All might not be lost for Marc…somehow Di hot-wiring a car is being fit into this scene. Perhaps she crashes into the White House, Wheaties follows her, and at the last send Marc body swaps with him, trapping both Link and Wheaties in Tiki.
“Never say die, man! You hang in there. You’ll make it, you’ll see. You’ll get well and we three will borrow a page from Rikk’s, Rumy’s and Ally’s book. I promise.”
But seriously, I’m a little ashamed to confess that, while I do like Marc as a character, I’m not terribly upset about him (probably) dying. What really irks me is Tiki Wiki not being the one getting mutilated and controlled by The Monster Formerly Known As Link. Now _that_ would be worth printing on a t-shirt
It hasn’t really gotten fully explained, but even going back to the time-travellers first showing up a few chapters ago, it seems like that the overall plan of the Cuckoos is to use Earth as a way to introduce themselves as heroic good-guys to the Community of Worlds, with the tone that the Cuckoos might then use examples such as Keith’s private realm to get the Community to agree that humans need the Cuckoos to lead and protect them.
But it hasn’t all been said at one time. You kind of have to piece it together.
Kadzooque: I was confused by the hot-wiring panel, so I looked back at what we last saw Di doing. I’m pretty sure she’s actually hot-wiring a cement truck so she can use it to defeat Wheaties, possibly by burying him in high-quality quick-dry.
Currently, the least likely person to be pulling a Xanatos gambit in this situation is… Obama? Huh.
The least likely person to be pulling one in all the other concurrent situations is… Animal.
If the Xanatos gambit has been going on for a long time, we can expand our parameters. The least likely person overall to currently be pulling a long-con Xanatos gambit is probably… hmm… either the catgirl Nuku who took Zaha’s old body, or the fake Stephen Colbert with Captain America powers. That’s kind of a toss-up.
Really, LockeZ? Cause Obama would be the first in my list to be the Xanatos. Just like Steve Jobs was pulling the Xanatos gambit back in iGod. Always suspect the big-time real worlders. And do you know what having Cuckoos taking over would cause a lot of? CHANGE.
Speaking of which, looking back, Steve Jobs was alive back then, huh? Wow, that got kinda awkward for any new readers. Especially regarding the pancreas line.
And as for Marc, if this is the end for him, it’s probably for the best. It’s really the only nice and resolved way to get out of a love triangle with no alternative love interests for any party. That is, the only way that doesn’t involve something fucked-up like falling in love with their baby.

Goddammit T, Marc was my favorite. I’m still hoping he somehow escapes this one but it doesn’t seem likely.

I keep hearing Link voiced by Tim Curry playing Hexxus from FernGully.
I’m sure this is a massive xanatos gambit being played out by the least likely individual …
And no, that individual is NOT Marc, although you would be lead to think that …
Least likely individual? You mean Dotty, don’t you.
T_T
No, the true mastermind is Laura!
Wait wait wait. Community membership? What’s that? I thought Link was the leader of the group. What’s this “community”?
MechTech mentioned that if they took over Earth, a ‘Community of Worlds’ would accept them finally.
Marc will live.
He will be trapped in TW with Link for a while though. Hence his depression and inability to fight after ‘The Bad Day(tm)’.
You will be archived.

i may never understand the thinking of tyrants.

@lightsabermario
Hilda has expressed an interest in Marc btw.
This due to him actually listening to her, something that her former BF didn’t do.
