I knew she could control energy fields, but I didn’t think Donna could actually invade Mech-Tech’s Tron space. I’m also a little surprised she could strangle someone who probably doesn’t breathe air. I suppose it’s artistic license for something else.
That being said something doesn’t seem right. Mech-tech doesn’t seem any stronger with Cloud’s upgrade and the antagonists are losing this early in the chapter. I think there’s another reversal soon, but what I don’t know and can’t guess.
Donna is a one-woman war winner here. Gave AEGIS the teleport it needed to deal with Link and the satellite and now taking on Mechtech too. Jared and Donna have been the wildcards.
Of course SOMETHING is going to go wrong, though. But what?
Anybody remember all of Donna’s powers? It’s easy to forget just how powerful that group actually was, with Feddyg taking all the attention and all their infighting taking them down.
Flight, Energy Field Manipulation, Teleportation, Golem-Summoning, Illusions, Reading Hearts in Entrails, and Scrying, which may or may not work without the Eye of Ramses.
really? i thought Donna have very few base abilities but could like the black rose borrow a portion of the ability of others if she was close enough to them. besides didn’t she get most of her non Golem summoning abilities from the same ritual that gave Freddy G his magic power?
e_voyager: The Order of the Dragon used a ritual to share all of their powers with each other. Donna’s original ability was reading hearts in entrails. Golem summoning came from Hus, Energy fields from Xi, Illusions from Rob, Scrying from Jon + the Eye of Ramses, Teleportation + flight from Edward, and nothing from Keith.
There was never anything like borrowing someone else’s powers if she was close to them, though.
I’m more surprised about the whole “Nukes launch yourselves” thing. With all the fuss made about the fallibility of electronic systems, the need for human operator intervention and how important confirmation is for the launch process, that was just weird. Do they start fueling themselves? The orders hijack planes, subs and aircraft carriers? Not related but is Mechtech breaking the fourth wall here?
Brasca1: You could argue that Donna strangling MechTech is just the visual representation of what happens in their cyberfight. Kind of like a graphic user interface on a computer.
Or they actually are physically real in TronSpace and going for some good old fisticuffs. And whether you need air to breathe or not, when your vocal cords are obstructed, you won’t exactly be saying much. Like orders for massive nuclear destruction for example.
It’s not “borrowing,” it’s “copying.” The sharing was permanent: it didn’t blink out of existence even after the original owners of the abilities started dying. Feddyg used the illusion powers he got from Rob as effectively after killing Rob as before.
@L, we have plenty of safeguards against that sort of thing, but none of them defend against an A.I. capable of making any machine obey her every command.
@T Campbell: I suppose “technomancers” are way down on the Pentagon’s “Bases we need to cover” list. Thanks.
@Mike Crichton: Yeah nevermind, had a massive brainfart and forgot most nuclear missiles nowdays are solid fueled anyway. People haven’t needed to fuel them since like, 1969 XD.
@Jason: Cause it’s the first time we’ve ever seen an A.I. ragequit.
@thray thanks for the list that saved me from going back and rereading that arc. though Freddy G is a masterful manipulator i don’t think that’s a magical ability.
@T Campbell:heh i forgot that the sharing was permanent but it makes since sense Freddy G still has his powers.
why is it that almost Every time someone who want’s to rule the world is foiled they call the inhabitants sheepeople?
@e_voyager because they think that anyone who thinks the status quo is better than what they want it to be, are simply conforming to what the norm is like a bunch of sheep.
The last panel is 31nderful flavours of awesome. *still laughing*

Wait, whose fault is it?
Also, the Hand’s credibility = FUBAR
did donna just tech speak? Does that mean she can control machines as well?

Finally! 😀
I wanna do what Donna is doing to Mech Tech to every living soul that uses the word “sheep” to refer to people.

I just assumed she’d taken care of the preliminary preparations already, and all she needed to do at this point was Tell the Button to Push Itself.
To me the funniest line of this strip is: “People of Earth: FUCK YOU!” I find MechTech’s rage hilarious for some reason.
Feels a little too easy, doesn’t it? What was it that future!Guth was saying before… “what we do know can hurt us”?
I want to have Donna’s babies, is that bad?
Anyone notice how in the last panel the Princess Leya horns went all perky?
This is one primo Donna. Rage against that machine!
I am really liking donna and hope she becomes like a main character we can explore more later and not have her die somehow by villians’ hands.

@Damoncord if you ask me there inability to convince a ‘bunch of sheep’ to follow them proves that they aren’t leadership material.
