Didn’t see this one coming. I thought she would try to get help to fight him, but to outright run away and escape didn’t even cross my mind. Well played…
Speed is probably her advantage since his powers seem to be only super strength and invulnerability. Don’t imagine he’s going to be very happy with Bellhop when he gets back.
Admittedly, I thought she was going to fight him, but in terrain or a situation which gives her the advantage. However, luring him out of the way while the rest of Team Alpha does whatever they are up is good too. Or maybe Wheaties is now standing at ground zero for something unpleasant …
…and if you thought a giant hulking brute beating up a pretty girl in public would be bad publicity for The Hand, just imagine what a giant hulking brute chasing down a pretty girl to beat her up would look like.
Holy hell. This is straight out of Rumy’s playbook for Hyperman.
Brasca, why do you say “when” Wheaties gets back? That’s more of an “if.” Bellhop seems to be reconsidering loyalties, their flyer is down… the Hand is losing fingers left and right. Wheaties is now stuck in the same city as Excalibur, and I’m betting his adaptive skin won’t be able to keep up when they meet.
Don’t know whether she has plans beyond this point or if it only was a last resort plan to escape, but it certainly made my day!
And Di is clearly showing that she finally started learning things that go beyond fighting. Congratulations, former Padawan. You are a Jedi now. (And here’s to hoping she will make it Master yet!)
So…was the plan to lure Wheaties off the island, or just to get herself off the island? I’m not convinced Bellhop won’t bring him right back (I haven’t seen enough to justify Bellhop’s possible defection), and someone still needs to rescue Rikk.
No – this is brilliant! She isn’t running to escape, she’s running to present the image of the biggest guy for the Hand chasing down a woman, and team member of an internationally recognised peacekeeping service. This is one of the worst PR nightmares for LINK possible.
The Hand: A force for truth, justice and the brutal beating of female officers of the law by highly trained men.
This could only be made worse by her some how getting Wheaties to say something like “get back in the kitchen” or “that’ll learn you” over her beaten body…
um, you know what’s probably even worse for PR? Turning into a demon in the Oval Office on national TV and attacking the peacekeepers and describing how you’re taking over the universe. She’s got a good plan but since we saw no proof the feed was cut off… They might have more to deal with than a guy beating up a pretty girl, PR-wise
One might wonder how much “humanity” Wheaties copied when he created his form. Enough, he might start thinking things through. maybe not a full “road to Damascus” conversion, but I suspect that Bellhop’s not the only one starting to have some doubts…

Afterwards, Di munches on a carrot and mutters “Ain’t I a stinker?”
Is… is some group performing “Rent” in the background of the first panel?

BWA HA HA HA! Awesome!
Clever girl…
I am reminded of this.

Is it just me, or does Di just getting funnier with every strip featuring her?
Wow. That was dumb of me.
“Is Di getting funnier” or “Does Di get funnier” both would have been acceptable and instead, I had to murder the English language.
All my love, Di. You have it.

Excalibur is in California, this is Washington DC.
Can’t…stop….laughing…
Guess Dina’s not going to make it into the next Soul Calibur.
lol, Di. Smarter than I thought.
Ah, character development. For someone like Di, running away from a fight probably takes more courage than fighting to the death.
I’m feeling ready to stop thinking of the new main characters as the new main characters. Just in time for it all to end…
@Joraiem: Don’t worry, the English language is even more invulnerabler than Wheaties. 😉
1) BWAHAHAHAHA
2) Get pacing. After all the drama and worry, this is a great spot for a laugh to ease it some.
Yep. Definitely didn’t see that one coming. 😀

God job, girl!
“Right, plan B: Run.”

Nah – Wheaties is a tool like the others. One change of heart limit methinks.
