So they stopped Will’s death and removed Ult from the equation. The question is whether the rogue satellite story has been played out or if they’ll still use that.
@tbf I’d consider 4 a draw. AEGIS HQ was destroyed along with Ult. The only advantage other than his death is that more AEGIS personnel escaped. Apparently not Zaha if that’s who Ult is vaporizing. It would also explain her absence in the future encounters. I’m a little surprised Will would be so squeamish about seeing his own demise. I figure that’s something they’ve grown numb to witnessing.
What I’m missing is how a single person with a magic(?) sword can rampage through a city. Rumy’s a little short to pull off the King Kong routine convincingly. One SWAT sniper on a helicopter would slow her down significantly.
There’s a slight problem with the rogue satellite card though:
Mechtech informed the world of it by off-handedly hacking herself into just about every public information network of the world.
After the satellite, by pure accident of course, first fired on AEGIS HQ. The headquarters of the one organisation that opposed them in the past.
Those two things put together do throw up some questions and doubts. Doubts that would grow each time another incident with the satellite would occur with the hand somehow being just on time to at least prevent a total catastrophe.
@Brasca1: I practice martial arts three times a week (Seen other accidents before) and I still got a little queasy when I split the flesh on my forehead on a concrete landing (accidentally) once and I had to get stitches. I don’t think seeing yourself get disemboweled is something you could get used to.
@Locke: Obama’s “The Scream” expression speaks for itself. Think that’s just from the satellite shot? Hell no! Personally I think his mind’s going like Tom-In-Prison (from “The Boondocks”) there: YOU CANNOT HAVE MY BOOTY!!!
Rumy’s under protection from the FIB, not the FBI, and the FIB doesn’t exist anymore (unless FIB protection = Aegis protection; but I’d guess not since we’ve seen Rumy take a beating from her “colleagues”). Not really buying the “Rumy Rampage”, but, theoretically she does have the Hand/Bellhop’s teleportation backing her, so there’s that. Still can’t for the life of me figure out what motivation Bellhop/Soulson could have to be a part of this. What he’s doing to his mom makes no sense – at least not with the explanations he’s given so far.
There’s always the simple question- Is that really her son? And if he is- does he actually give a fuck? Just because she gave birth to him-kinda sorta- doesn’t mean that he really cares about her.
Just to put forth one more alternative about Will’s face, it could be the realization that he may get blamed for losing Rikk and Rumy. I think it is supposed to be a response to the disemboweling though.
In something of a response to Bunny, I am still not convinced that the Cuckoos aren’t all Xenochiclet hybrids. Perhaps not all from human mind-parents though. Hyperman first appeared on earth shortly after the Xenochiclets visited for the first time. It could be the case that he is a random alien summoned by the 23-sider or i could be that he, and all the other Cuckoos, was created by the 23-sider.
If the 23-sider pulled down an alien, there is no reason it couldn’t be half Xenochiclet. The idea that they come from a bunch of different races and are only pretending to be one race is an option but it could also be that they are half-Xenochiclets and they could still have their other parents be of various races. Their variation could also be accounted for by the different ideas that were used to spawn them.
If the first batch of them at least were all human-xenochiclet hybrids, it would account for their interest in the future of Earth.
Of course, knowing that Hyperman was connected to the use of a 23-sider, it is possible that the time travelers, the alien council, and everything else is just after-effects of introducing a wish for a super-heroic reality model.
It looks like panel four was averted, but panels five and six still loom.

He’s not squeamish about his demise… He’s more likely squeamish about being lusted over by Guth… Nothing homophobic, just sooooooo not his type.
What’s wrong, Will? Don’t have the GUTS to save the world?
… I’m sorry. I know that pun was a bit too much to stomach.
tbf: I think 5 is averted to – they already played the “rogue satellite” card
@d0dger Also, the fact that Guth totally channeled Tim for that comment probably had something to do with it.
After all these years, I thought Will had already used all his facial expressions.
I’m very amused to have been wrong. 😀
No, they can play rogue satellite card until there isn’t a city left on the whole planet.

And yet none of us commented on Link whispering sweet, sweet nothings into the president’s ear.
Or about Link’s power level… He withstood the satellite blast? Unfazed? Looks like he’s a lot stronger than we knew.
…also, is anyone else curious about Guth’s infosphere now? Maybe there was more in there than our Guth let on…
@Locke: We’re all just trying to injore that dude… We really don’t want our minds going there.
Now I’m betting that Di’s the one that’ll fix the Rummy Rampage! But the firing of the Summit Metting, I’m not sure how they’re going to fix…
@Commiekeebler
You forget, that blade is Excalibur, its wielder will always triumph in battle.
Combine that with her Martial Arts skills of Anything Goes.
That sniper won’t be able to get off a shot, because she’ll be moving too much, too randomly for him to predict.
Not to mention if that sniper is involved with the FBI, he literally CANNOT hit Rumy. She’s still under protection from on high.

The question remains then, is Will blushing because of the gore on the screen or because of the undertones in Guthrie’s sweet voice?
Rocky abs /puke
