“… And BEHOLD, Mr. President, the quarter has DISAPPEARED.
And, yes, I’m available to perform at your children’s birthday party. You don’t even have to ask.”
@Aydr But see, if she had any doubt, would the sword even work for her under the rules Excalibur apparently has in this world? She needs to believe what she’s doing is right, completely, so if she hesitated here because she hadn’t snapped completely… the sword would stop working, right? Eh, maybe it’s more vague than that.
Really rather hoping the President is smarter than this. I mean, getting this offer after AEGIS headquarters just happens to be “mysteriously destroyed by their own satellite” — I’d rather hope that ANY President (yes, even Ulysses S. Grant when dead drunk) would be savvy enough to see right through that.
Well, her goal here has nothing to do with killing Jackie, from what we know… I’d imagine what she was instructed to do was to essentially trash the seaboard until all faith in Aegis is lost. Hell, putting faith in the good ol’ bystander exposition of the police which as readers we’re indoctrinated to take as word of god, actually trying to kill Jackie might make the sword stop working for her.
Why should she kill Jackie? Think about it: What have we seen her cutting down? Lamp posts, cars, electric posts, things like that. What haven’t we seen her cutting down? People. Those we’ve only seen her hitting around, knocking them out in the process. Maybe some slight fractures, worst comes to worst. And only if they didn’t run, which she always has given them more than enough time to do.
Unless someone steps in soon Link is winning this argument. Maybe Kath will offer a rebuttal.
Still calling bullshit on the crazy Rumy. She’s gotta be faking going along with the Hand.
Case in point: Jackie is still in one piece.
No, still think this isn’t bullshit- she just hasn’t snapped completely.
And yeah, I really hope Kath is on hand about now. Seems unlikely… but maybe she’s muscled herself in given the situation.

Since when did Excalibur become a lie detector?
“I didn’t ask why I should trust you over AEGIS.
I asked why I should trust you, period.”
Scary Rumy is scary.
Just for contrast.

“Look, Mr. President! A BUTTERFLY!”
