The subtlety of the previous page is quickly abandoned, but I still think Rikk's crush on Dotty—who has to be in her fifties at least, and is a widow—is kind of endearing. He was physically attracted to the young Dotty he saw on the screen, and a crush followed which soon existed independently of desire. His moral center and shyness keep it from getting stalkerish.
