Writing tip: Pair characters that don't often go together.

This little scene does a lot for Rumy's development, getting into her fear of losing control at parties and setting her against her "traditional" family (really more her mother and sister, but they're the more assertive family members, as we'll learn later).

There's less new here about Katherine, but it's nice to be reminded that Kath has an active social life which the Club is only part of. The number of envelopes Kath has collected in that last panel is meant as a clue in that direction. Too subtle? Maybe, but the next page will clear up any doubt.
