But let's be clear: Shanna's only edge is that she can see through their cover. If Miller and Sully had vanished and never sought out the Fans again, her chase would have gone nowhere.

I need to make a tough call about this "annotated" edition. I can see from the traffic logs that a small number of you really like it, but the traffic's not showing much growth, month after month (and it's pretty low compared to, say, CoolCatStudio.com, or even the traffic on Graphic Smash.)

Jason and I have begun to work on the sequel project, "Fans: The Swarm," and I'm thinking people might like me to spend more time on that and less time on this.

But although I never quite said I would annotate every page of the original series, I think I implied it, and I don't like breaking promises, even implied ones. Yet I wonder if more people would be happier if I did.
